
SARA Master Class: Rail Transport as the Backbone of Economic Development
The Southern African Railways Association (SARA) is hosting a 3-Day Master Class on “Rail Transport Efficacy to National and Regional Economic Development,” from 4-6 December 2024 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
Designed for transport ministers, policymakers, national railway leaders, and industry executives, this Master Class will explore how strategic rail infrastructure can drive economic growth, facilitate trade, and strengthen regional connectivity across Africa.
The programme covers essential topics, including the economic impact of rail transport on job creation and market access, strategies for sustainable rail infrastructure development, and insights from case studies on successful rail projects. Participants will also address challenges and opportunities in integrating rail with other transport modes, financing strategies, and the role of public-private partnerships in building resilient rail networks.
Led by industry experts, the Master Class offers a blend of presentations, interactive discussions, and real-world case study analyses, giving participants actionable insights to apply in their regions.
